Teaching Recognition Awards (TRA) Guidelines

  1. Applicant must be a member of IARS.
  2. Applicant must indicate whether he/she is applying for the Achievement in Education Award or Innovation in Education Award.
  3. Prior applicants may resubmit, but must indicate which award they are applying for.
  4. Only one application per academic department will be considered, regardless of category.
  5. Applications must be completed and submitted via the online application portal by August 15, 2011 to be eligible for consideration.
  6. Applicants must commit, if chosen as a 2011 TRA recipient, to attend the IARS 2012 Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, May 2012 and present at the Awards Panel held the morning before the Seldon Lecture.
  7. Three letters of recommendation are required. Letters from any applicable referees are welcome, including letters from medical students, residents and fellows.
  8. Applicants with emphasis in medical education are welcome to apply.
