Teaching Recognition Awards - $20,000
The Teaching Recognition Awards (TRA) are designed to recognize anesthesiology faculty who have demonstrated outstanding teaching skills and significant contributions to the academic community. Two separate awards, Innovation in Education and Achievement in Education, are granted annually.
Innovation in Education ($15,000): The Innovation in Education Award is intended to recognize new, innovative educational programs. Candidates at every career stage are welcome to apply, but must demonstrate recent implementation of a ground-breaking, novel educational tool. The award includes a $5,000 prize to the recipient and a $10,000 award to the recipient’s institution intended to support a new education project.
Achievement in Education ($5,000):The Achievement in Education Award recognizes outstanding career contributions by an individual educator in the anesthesiology field. Candidates at every career stage are welcome to apply, but must demonstrate evidence of national and/or international academic success. The award includes a $5,000 prize to the recipient.
Award Details
Each Teaching Recognition Award includes:
- $5,000 awarded to the recipient
- Round-trip coach airfare for the recipient to participate in the IARS Annual Meeting
- Complimentary registration to the IARS Annual Meeting, two nights (room and tax) at the headquarters hotel, a per diem of $100 for two days and round-trip coach airfare (up to $500) to/from the meeting.
